Not that I really give a damn, let's face it- their greatest achievement was ripping off the Stones, but it's mildly irritating in that I could once claim that I had been to the Verve's last ever gig. Which, to some people, was a big deal (certainly the journalists at Q magazine, who have listed it in at least two of their 'greatest ever gigs' countdowns). Now I have merely been to 'a verve gig' which is thoroughly less impressive, and in fact somewhat lame. Damn you, Richard Ashcroft, did no one warn you to invest your earnings wisely??
For anyone who cares, they're playing the Oddyssey Arena in Belfast on Dec 17th.
