with the weekend here my original idea of song to cheer you up in the January grind as has mutated into party songs.
today song is from of Montreal. of Montreal make euphoric indie pop.they are the brainchild of singer/song-writer/guitarist Kevin Barnes.there sound has grown over the year (in the being it was little more then a Barnes solo project) with exploring a bouncier, synth-driven avenue. the song im posting (The Past Is A Grotesque Animal)is an epic party song clocking in just under 12 minutes it also has a really good but really easy sing along part (even if its the first time you have heard that song and/or really drunk). It one of them songs that should be played at all parties when everyone has had just the right amount of booze to feel free enough to dance on some kind of furniture and not feel self conscience (and this song i feel will help). the song is off there 2007 album Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? there darkest, most personal and most ambitious album. Even though the Dublin date in December was well less then lack luster i have been told by reliable sources that this was a one off and am looking forward to seeing them at ATP vs Pitchfork in may.
