McCain Cements Position As Republican Candidate

It's official, John McCain is now the Republican party candidate for this year's US presidential election.

Last night (or right now, depending on when you're reading this) the states of Vermont, Ohio, Texas and Rhode Island went to the polls to decide on their choices for party candidates. This is considered one of the last great battles in the race for nomination, and it's proven too much for 'Crazy' Mike Huckabee, who has finally admitted defeat by his hard-as-nails opponent, John McCain.

This pretty much means there's now a 50-50 chance that the man pictured above giving terrorism the ol' pirate-eye will soon be the 'leader of the free world'.

This is terrifying because not only does he subscribe to the shoot first, ask questions later ethos that has served America so poorly, but he has genuine Rambo-style life experience in 'The Shit', so is likely to take no prisoners.

Oh, and there's always this classic.

Obama has apparently walked Vermont, so hopefully the other three states will follow suit. Clinton is on a twelve state losing streak, which she may not pull out of. If by tomorrow she hasn't been successful in either Texas or Ohio, we can safely say her campaign is screwed.

From the man himself:

Soooo....

  • nuclear proliferation/ disarmament
  • open dialog with 'enemies'
  • common sense
  • the nuclear proliferation/ disarmament thing is really all I needed, to be honest.
Ubermoron Bush has made the threat of Mass Destruction and huge scale collateral damage frighteningly real with his dangerous foreign policies & general surly fighting talk. We need some sense in the White House, and nuclear disarmament sounds pretty damned sensible to me.

I have to say while I commend egoeccentric's interest in the political process across the Atlantic I have to ask why there has been no mention of our own homegrown pantomime of "When Berie Went to the Tribunal"

While its not an original plot with Bertie seeming like a latter day Professor Marcus from "The Ladykillers" surely Bertie's comic lines deserve better recognition.

On the subject of the great big Obama craze, maybe a little caution is needed. Obama may say a lot but whether he will deliver is another thing, he's a politician after all.

I say this because after Hillary said she would bring back protectionist policies and end the North American Free Trade zone to safeguard American jobs, Obama jumped on the bandwagon and said i'll do that aswell.

However, then a source in the Canadian government came out and said Obama had assured them that the Free Trade Area would remain.

Like I say, caveat emptor (buyer beware) or in this case voter or optimistic foreign onlooker beware.

I'll get Bertie yet, dude. He almost comes out with TOO much crap for me to cover.

See what you mean about Obama and the possibility of not delivering, but i guess that could be said of all of politicians..
