Ennio Morricone with the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra and the Belfast Philharmonic Choir


Ennio Morricone, the Italian maestro behind some of the most instantly recognisable film music of the last forty years, will perform his only UK and Ireland engagement this year at the Opening Concert of the Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen`s.

This is a rare live appearance by the Oscar-winning film legend. Tickets are certain to be snapped up quickly by fans of Morricone who will savour a mouth-watering selection of some of his most unforgettable music. His distinguished repertoire includes The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in America, The Untouchables, the intimate Cinema Paradiso and the enormously popular score for The Mission which starred Robert de Niro and Jeremy Irons.

Ennio Morricone has won five BAFTAs for Best Score and been nominated five times for an Oscar. He finally received an Honorary Academy Award in 2007 “for his magnificent and multifaceted contributions to the art of film music”.
