The Verve new single = Totally decent

Perhaps its the fact that I always had a soft spot for The Verve and was never content with them being pigeon-holed into the "Oasis-sound-alikes" category (despite being out before Oasis), or perhaps the Oooh-oooh aaah-aaah noises in the song sound creepily great but the new single by the newly reformed (again) Verve is quite a decent song altogether. Check it out.

Wrong. The Verve made the most-bought but most-unlistened to album ever.

They are bland.

Bland-0-Rama

If they had a spaghetti shape line it'd be called Bland-O's.

In conclusion - BLAND. B-L-A-N-D.

I disagree with you both. Neither decent or bland, but more like 'a bit crap'.

What's the deal with that annoying sample running through the whole song? Who's idea was that?

To Mr "Won't post under a name therefore making any opinion I have moot" I say: You are incorrect. Everybody knows that the most-bought but most-unlistened to album was Be Here Now by Oasis so take your pillars of wrongness elsewhere and be wrong there.

Anyway. Before the admittedly mediocre Urban Hymns they released the excellent A Northern Soul and the never-less-than-interesting A Storm in Heaven.

And to Rob: The creepy sample is what makes the song much like a lot of the Verves songs it isn't Ashcrofts voice that makes the songs (as much as he bleats about it) but the bits that drive it, like the strings on Bittersweet Symphony, guitar on Lucky Man and the strings on his own solo Song for the Lovers.

Doesn't make it any less annoying...
