Don't bogart the Cobain

Award winning Berlin based artist Natascha Stellmach is set to smoke Kurt Cobain's cremated ashes,Cobain's ashes will be rolled into a joint to be smoked at the completion of the exhibition.
Stellmach somehow acquired the ashes of Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain (when asked how she got them she said "That's confidential and kind of magic. They came to me. And I am setting him free”), and has transformed the grunge icon’s remains into an installation investigating suicide and the power of desecration.Stellmach's work comprises a "death cycle" of five pieces, and the conclusion presents a joint containing Cobain's ashes, which is held in an antique case engraved with the work's title (seen above.)

Set Me Free is on until October 11, at Gallerie Wagner + Partner, Berlin. More at galerie-wagner-partner.com

I reckon there's no reason it can't be both art AND sick. Still a load of me hole though. Hopefully the recession will force a lot of these bums to get a real job.

Courtney Love must be absolutely DESPERATE for crack by the way. Or maybe it's not even Cobain's ashes and the whole thing is one big exercise in some kind of discourse-on-celebrity wankology. Hmmmmm...

Even if it's just an 'artistic' stunt, the idea of smoking somebody's ashes amounts to surrogate, inhalation cannibalism.

What a load of bollocks. No artist or anyone for that matter has the right to do anything to anyones ashes.
I doubt he would appreciated being inhaled by some artist with no connection to him, looking for extra publicity to boost her career. I know I wouldn't and I'm not sure whether there's an afterlife or not...
