The first casualty of the summer season- Prince succumbs to poor ticket sales.

Prince has cancelled his show at Dublin’s Croke Park next Monday. Per promoters MCD, 55,161 tickets were sold for this show (by the way, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a major promoter give a ticket tally like this for a show). The reason for the cancellation is given as “due to reasons beyond the control of PRINCE and MCD Productions”.

Prince has hit back at allegations that he's suing his fansites, claiming that his beef is only with some of them in particular, and that he's prefer if they used images that he provides them with, rather than their own unapproved content. So he may not necessarily be a dick, but certainly has no idea of what a fansite is. And has waaaaaay too much time on his hands.

Prince has sent out the lawyers to demand that images bearing his likeness are removed from his own fansites. What an asshole! Needless to say the fans are up in arms, claiming infringement of their right for freedom of speech. To be honest, I'm surprised they don't just tell Prince to go fuck himself and start worshiping artists less likely to sue their own fans. Like Metallica.
