This weeks mixtape was chosen by John from Butterfly Explosion and is, as he calls it, "a guide from head splitting hangover pain to your re-introduction to the world". Think of this weeks mix as a concept album of sorts as it goes from the downbeaten trudge of Joy Division's "Day of the Lords" before building you slowly back up into party mood finishing with Gui Boratto's "Beautiful Life".
Butterfly Explosion have recently returned from a temporary hiatus, acquiring a new drummer and playing a barn-storming (at least so much as you can storm a barn while shoegazing) set at Whelans last month. They play The Button Factory tonight (12th) as support to Maps and will no doubt give the headliners something very difficult to follow. Get there for 7.45 for aural awesomeness.
