Tubelord & Blakfish play Eamonn Dorans

(review of blakfish new ep in the read more)
"See You In Another City" is Blakfish's first proper release, considering the bands been together for over 10 years and have put out a number of EP’s independently its about time, but all that time have severed them well. the EP is a short but very sweet stab of new hardcore music that has been coming out of the UK for a few years now. There sound is a hybrid of such bands as At the drive in , Blood Brothers and then throwning in some minus the bear and even some pop sensibility (they know how to make a hook)
While it took me a while to get into the EP , having two of there old EP (gold, Myforteistimetravel)it wasn't the instance like I had with them , but after a few listens i came to the conclusion that the EP really does the band justice , they are an amazing live band and the EP captures some of this and is all the better for it this is the sound of intelligent intensity with serious musicianship and a unique party vibe.
the Richter Collective are giving away a song off the ep for free download the excellently titled "Jeremy Kyle Is A Marked Man" this song has a lot of potential to be Blakfish's crossover tune, and will be a crime if Phantom FM dont start playing it soon.
Go to the gig tomorrow and enjoy as Blakfish really do put on a really good show and while your there pick up the new ep

Blakfish are a 4 piece from Birmingham UK. They have been playing together since they were 12. Blakfish's eccentric high-energy offbeat stop-start hardcore is an intoxicating blend of elemental forces, with reggae breakdowns and hip hop interludes lightening the mood amidst scalding, paint stripping riot rock topped by alternately melodic and throat-ripping raging vocals.

Enemies started a few years back as a solo project by guitarist Eoin Whitfield called "New Man Eoin". In the summer of 2007 he got three other musicians; Lewis Jackson (Guitar), Oisín McMahon Trench (Drums) and Mark O' Brien (Bass). They became "enemies" and play relaxing, hypnotic (yet large at parts) music together. They released they're debut EP "Alpha Waves" in early March 2008.
