cover versions

Over the past couple of weeks by chance I've been listing to a few different cover versions.Sometimes they can remind you of a song you’ve forgotten about. Sometimes they can take a mediocre track and actually improve on it. And sometimes they can be downright hilarious.

the first is Thee More Shallows version of "I Can't Get Next to You" originally by The Temptations

Next is Mogwai's version of "Gouge Away" by PIXIES , its of "Dig For Fire - A Tribute To PIXIES"

Something a little different off "Dynamite With A Laserbeam: Queen As Heard Through The Meat Grinder Of Three One G" which is bands signed to Three One G playing Queen songs. The one im gonna play is Melt Banana playing "We Will Rock You" its very different to the orginal

This is taken of The Brave and the Bold by Tortoise and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy which is an album of cover versions . it Tortoise and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy covering Daniel by Elton John

And finaly we have Dump (Yo La Tengo bassist James McNew solo project) doing a cover of Yoyo Bye Bye by the amazing Why?

Dump also has an album called That Skinny Motherfucker With the High Voice? which is an album of prince covers and if anyone has it i would love to hear it.

so as you can see we got our streaming music problem sorted thanks to nialler9 for sending me the info on it cheers again.

All that said not all cover versions are good just off the top of my head scissor sisters covering Comfortably numb awful,American Pie by Madonna awful , The Tide Is High by Atomic Kitten awful.
