I didnt' realise Once had been filmed so long ago.
Its more likely now that it will be eligible because all Hansard has to say is that of course he fucking wrote it for the movie and how can they prove otherwise. The albums came out after the film was shot.

As much as I despise Hansard, Once really is very very good, despite ya mans inflated head.

Hopefully the song will be eligible though - works wonderfully in the context of the film.

I am definitely going to watch Once, eventually. More than likely before the oscars. Dislike of Hansard can only hold back such good word of mouth for so long. Damn.

So you gotta be fucking pissed that Hansard & Irglova won an Oscar!!! And to top it off, Jon Stewart made a smart ass remark about Hansard being arrogant. I know you think he's arrogant to us stupid Americans, he's a down-to-Earth Irish guy who makes great music & played sucha huge role in making a great little movie.

No, I'm not pissed, I'm happy for the guy, and that whole 'national pride' thing makes me vaguely pleased too.

The song is good, and it deserved the win, but even if you love him now- Hansard's still a tool.

Give it time, you'll realise eventually. I'll bet a shiny penny on it.

I am not necessarily happy as I am indifferent. It was clearly better than the other 4 songs which just don't really work out of the context of the film.

I haven't watched the oscars yet but KUDOS to Jon Stewart if he did indeed make that remark
