This is off topic for the blog but i feel that it is important.
An "artist" from Costa Rica - Guillermo Habacuc Vargas - as an installation piece took a dog from the street and caused it to suffer and starve to death in the name of Art.
For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony,until eventually he died. Does that sound like art to you ?
But this is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that the 'installation' was actually art, so thatGuillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008
this is why im asking everyone to sign a petition to stop this sick cruelty that is NOT art

Fuckin hell! I mean in the renaissance if an artist could not come up with something original they painted another Crucifixion of Christ or another Virgin Mary.

It's not that it's not art, its just that its bad irresponsible art made by a cruel person. What is art? Do you know what art is?

I guess this does fall into one or two of those definitions. I don't really give a fuck though. I'd never try and take away from this artists right to express himself but just so long as he acknowledges and accepts my right to stamp on his head.
I dont consider this myself to be art conor , i dont see any artist merit in making something suffer

Let's hope PETA hunt him down for their 2008 Rewengay Installation...
