Prince Cancelled

The first casualty of the summer season- Prince succumbs to poor ticket sales.
Via Jim Carroll:

Prince has cancelled his show at Dublin’s Croke Park next Monday. Per promoters MCD, 55,161 tickets were sold for this show (by the way, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a major promoter give a ticket tally like this for a show). The reason for the cancellation is given as “due to reasons beyond the control of PRINCE and MCD Productions”.

Low ticket sales according to the media, is the reason that multi millionaire prince is not gracing us with his presence in ireland on monday.

His belief in god, positivity and partying has not satisfied his lust for money making and so he has opted to let down 55,000 fans instead.

Its such a shame that we wont be
singing your songs the same way anymore.

it seems money DOES matter tonight.

Ticketmaster say in order to receive refund, those of us who purchased tickets online or by phone, need to post the tickets to an address in Dublin.
Why? Why put all those people to that extra expense after giving us the bad news today? They tickets got to us, they have our addresses!! My only assumption is that MCD want some of us not to claim the refund! Just send us a cheque, your f**k up, your problem. I'm presuming that we wont get the booking fee back, so as loyal music fans we've already footed one bill for you MCD!

Very very poor form on behalf of the mini purple one but in fairness he does have a reputations of being an absolute cock-gobbler.

I had heard that MCD will refund booking fee though.
