lol I watched Tom Cruise talking about the accents on Valkyrie, and his justification for using an American accent was that this is a "Broad audience movie", and that "If we're going to be Germans why not speak German?" , so they decided to just use their own accents.
Reasonable enough? He also said that they spoke German at the beginning of the movie to give the feel of being in Germany, but did that just confuse the viewer?
I haven't been to see it yet, just looking around at what people are saying about it.
Would you spend money to see it at the movies, or wait for DVD? (now that you've seen it.)
Cheers,
Chris
it is a descent film Chris, the pacing and tension is build up quite nicely , but there are much better films out in the cinema at the moment the wrestler, Frost/Nixon, the curious tale of Benjamin button so i would say go see any of them and wait for it on DVD
I remember when Alexander was around, people complained about the cast having Irish accents. The complaint made no sense. Once you're consistent with it (which that film was, pretty much, for everything else that was wrong with it) it shouldn't really be a problem.
Wasn't Passion of the Christ in the female case of Aramaic or something? Isn't that worse than having a silly accent?
These film people... ugh...
