Arcada are an awesome four-piece from Dublin, who's blend of energy and experimentation have won them quite a few fans on the gig circuit. Influenced by a huge variety of musical styles & genres, Arcada have rolled them all up into a quirky yet kinetic package. The band have recently played well received shows with the likes of Tubelord, Blakfish, BATS & Heathers, and seem to be on the verge of taking Dublin by storm.
The tipping point may well be reached this August, as Arcada release their debut album. For now the only aural taste of the band available is from their 2007 EP, but it should be more than enough to get you excited about August. This is I Will If You Ask Me:

If August seems too far away (it is, you know), you can check out Arcada live this Saturday night at Sugarlips in the Lower Deck, Portabello. Tickets are 5 euro til 9, 6 thereafter. Also playing are The Avalanche Effect, and the amazing Elk, which we'll be profiling tomorrow.

Sugarlips Spotlight: ARCADA
Sugarlips Presents...
Sugarlips presents two thirds of a Cork Invasion, with ELK & The Avalanche Effect playing alongside Dublin favorites Arcada on July 5th in the Lower Deck.
Tickets are 5 euro before nine, and 6 euro after. Madness is guaranteed.
In the next week egoeccentric will be posting profiles of all the bands on the bill featuring kickass mp3s, and even giving away tickets to the show. Yay!
Alpha Waves
This Friday (14th march)ENEMIES release there EP Alpha Waves. the gigs in the Lower deck and support on the night comes from Arcada, Heathers and Roomcore. Having heard some of ENEMIES new tunes at the resent papier tigre gig i have to say im looking forward to the EP, the gig is 10 euro and you get a free Ep bargain.

Bats take flight
The leather wings of Bats will be flapping there way down to Cork on the 14th of March and they will be bringing the truly awesome Crayonsmith with them as well. the gigs in Cypress Ave and its free in. And then after that they will drag their withered carcasses back up to Dublin to play Whelans (upstairs) with Arcada on the 15th of March and entrance a mire 7 Euro.
