All I know about this movie from watching the trailer, is that I want to see it.
Take that, Scorsese.
Now That's How You Make A Trailer
New Nightmare On Elm Street Trailer
When all this 'lets remake classic horror flicks' lark started up, I pretty much avoided them- save for occasionally suggesting that the only one I'd actually watch would be 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'. Things started promisingly, with the casting of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger. Who? You'll know him as Rorschach, but he's amazing as child molester Ronnie McGorvey in 'Little Children' (what a shitty thing to get typecast as).
But, alas, all hope has been lost with the below trailer. To be fair, it was probably rather foolish to think that it would be any different from all the other shitty, lazy, money-grabbing remakes.
The movie is released in Ireland on May 7th 2010.
Attention, Action Fans...
What do you get when you cross Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eric Roberts, Danny Trejo, UFC's Randy Couture and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin?
Clearly the answer is 'an 80s action fan's wet-dream', but it's also a new film written and directed by Sly himself: The Expendables.
The movie's been on the cards for some time, but the trailer has finally been released. It doesn't look amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but at the very least we can be guaranteed a few good one-liners, and maybe the odd decapitation.
Release dates are a while off yet, but the US won't see the film til the end of next summer, so I wouldn't hold your breath. In the meantime, here's the trailer:
Toy Story 3 Trailer
The trailer for Toy Story 3 has finally been released- woo hoo!
But we have to wait til next June for the movie- D'oh!
Michael Jackson's'This Is It' Trailer
In scrambling to to fill the huge financial void left by Michael Jackson's passing, concert promoters AEG sold hundreds of hours of rehearsal footage to Sony Pictures, who figured they could make a quick buck out of a cinema version. Said film is to be released on October 28th, and (bizarrely) run for two weeks only. To satisfy anticipated demand, tickets are going on sale a month early- on September 27th.
The film's trailer premiered yesterday at the MTV MVAs, and here it is for you in internetland:
JAMES CAMERON'S AVATAR TRAILER
With it being Avatar Day here it is , what do you think ????
Alice In Wonderland Trailer
Hmmm...
I can't say that I approved of Tim Burton's treatment of Willy Wonka, so lets hope this one goes a bit better. Anyone else getting a bit tired of Johnny Depp being 'kooky'?
March 5th next year is the release date.
Transforminators
They used to just shoot at us...but now they turn into sweet cars.
Just shows how easy easy acting is when you use the Christian Bale method.
Shutter Island Trailer
Well this looks like it's going to be awesome. Directed by Martin Scorsese, based on a novel by Dennis Lehane (one of the writers behind The Wire), a top notch cast, and interesting subject matter too boot.
My advice is to watch the first minute or so of the trailer, get excited, then turn it off. There is nothing more infuriating than a trailer which gives away the entire plot of the movie- and this seems to fall into that accursed category. Be warned.
It's due for release here on the 9th of October.
Final Half-Blood Prince Trailer
Arguably the best book of the series, and a movie that's kept us waiting longer than the usual 12 months... here's the final trailer for Hary Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:
This is going to be awesome.
Oberst's Mystic Valley Documentary
Conor Oberst's most recent musical incarnation, The Mystic Valley Band, has been captured on film for a new documentary. The movie follows the first 18 months of the band's career, and is being released for free from a variety of websites. It can be downloaded from Causecast.org, an online charity site. The idea behind the free release is that fans might donate money to one of the number of charities supported by the site, which is nice. More info on the film, entitled 'One of My Kind', here.
The full doc is released on April 15th, and a trailer can be viewed below:
Justice Tonight
Justice DJ in the Ambassador tonight, and I'm quite looking forward to it. The gig is to promote the release of their new DVD, A Cross The Universe. Rather than being a standard live DVD, it seems to be a no-holes-barred account of the madness that accompanies a world tour. Check out the trailer below, and be warned, it's not suitable for work.
Man on Wire
Just saw this documentary about a crazy French man who walked (illegally) on a tightrope between the two towers of the World Trade Centre back in the 70s.
Crazy? Yes, completely, but damn entertaining and genuinely awesome.
Here's the trailer:
New Harry Potter trailer
For all of those not afraid to admit that they like the series the new Harry Potter trailer can be seen below.
Those of you who've read the Book of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will know that its the most disposable of all the books in that nothing of much consequence happens in it before THAT end. THe trailer doesn't show an awful amount but it does have the right tone which is good. It remains to be seen whether it will turn out to be an interesting film or not or, more importantly, whether Hermione will have gotten hotter.
Whats the song in the Watchmen trailer?
Those of you saw the trailer for Watchmen (aka The no doubt disappointing adaptation of the greatest comic ever) may be wondering where and when they heard the song running through it. Some of you will remember Batman & Robin (aka the worst comic book movie of all time) and some of you may remember its theme song "The End is the Beginning is the End" by The Smashing Pumpkins (aka the last great Pumpkins song).
In a move that had to have been a dig at the afore-mentioned celluloid disaster the creators of Watchmen have used the companion piece "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning" which is prety much a remix of the first song. Below is presented both versions of the song. The instrumental versions of the song "The Ethers Tragic" and "The Guns of Love Disastrous" as well as the Watchmen trailer for those of you who missed it the first time.

Unkle do X-files theme

So as a precursor to their new album, Unkle have done their own version of the X-files theme tune for "The X-Files: I Want to Believe". Check it out below, its not half bad.

New Coen Brothers Trailer
Back to Big Lebowski territory it seems for The Coen Brothers (good, good...). Burn After Reading stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Frances McDormand & J. Jonah Jameson. It's released on October 17th.
Check out the read more for it's excellent Saul Bass influenced poster.
