A fourth installment in the Terminator franchise is now officially on its way. The movie will be the first not to feature Arnie, following the 3rd episode's tremendous success in chasing him off our screens and into public office. So who could possibly replace the actor that is unquestionably the linchpin of the series? To Hollywood casting agents, the answer was obvious: Batman.

Christian Bale will play John Conor in the flick which will be set several years after the 3rd movie's climactic nuclear holocaust. Hmm.. so can we expect a return to form for the series shaped by crazy-but-good auteur James Cameron? Probably not- it's being directed by McG, the man behind the two Charlie's Angels movies and 'The O.C.'.

Dang.
