How the hell nobody has seen this before I will never know but here is some rather old footage of two rather famous actors on the set of a rather awesome movie doing a rather awesome little ditty proving that both of them can sing awesomely enough.

Birdy Nam Nam are a French DJ crew whose aim is to use turntables as full on instruments, rather than just a medium. They're former DMC Technics World Team Champions, and released their self-titled debut album in 2006.
The video below is a live performance of Absesses, and is pretty damned amazing. Check it out:

Ok, I'm officially now a big fan of The Wire; and yes, that is my main reason for featuring this video, but Wire or not, Tom Waits is a god amongst men and this video is amazing.
So for your enjoyment here's Mr. Waits with Down in the Hole (which, for all those as yet uninitiated, is the theme tune for The Wire):

Spent a lot of the weekend listening to Elliott Smith's eponymous second album which is so damn beautiful, I'm gonna have Smith on the brain for weeks.
To drag you all in with me, here's his performance of Miss Misery at the Oscars. Oh how far away from Celine Dion... :

I'm not really a fan of Antony Hegarty- Antony & the Johnsons don't really do anything for me- but his new project Hercules & Love Affair seems pretty good. It's a million miles from 'the Johnsons', with funky bass and disco beats.
Here's the slightly odd video for Blind:

Clockwork Noise were in the studio again last weekend, during which time Silverline's resident genius Ivan Jackman pointed out to me just how damned amazing the following song is. The production is amazing on each individual element, the song itself is fantastic. This is Fiona Apple with 'Fast As You Can':

Zack Galifianakis' Absolut Vodka ad featuring Tim and Eric
Zach was asked to make an ad for Absolut Vodka as part of their ongoing artist series. He agreed as long as he got to do what he wanted without any restrictions. He asked his friends Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim of "Tim and Eric's Awesome Show, Great Job" to join him in creating the spot.

Even though Cassadaga was the first time I've really questioned the genius of Conor Oberst, I still reckon Bright Eyes are one of the greatest acts in the world. The band's glass-smashing-tastic show in Whelans on the last night of the Fevers & Mirrors tour is still more than likely the greatest live performance I've ever seen.
Youtube seems to be thin on the ground as far as videos of these legendary performances are concerned (at least the ones I was looking for) but sure enough, here's Oberst & Co tearing up the stage in awesome fashion on Craig Ferguson, no less, followed by a rather squirmish interview:

To help wash the shame of that last Jackson outing off our hands, here's a look back to better times. This is the famous 1983 live performance of Bille Jean that first introduced the world to the moonwalk. What a damned legend:
