Extra Life is an experimental band from Brooklyn formed in 2007.They combines elements of Medieval chant, metallic hardcore, dark neofolk, abstract modernism and lush pop.The band is lead by guitarist/vocalist Charlie Looker(member of Ocrilim, ex-Zs and ex-Dirty Projectors).

As was reported here and else where on the net last week that Justice where set to produce the next Red Hot Chili Peppers record , this turned out to well just be a rumor and seems to have stemmed from of all places the Sun newspaper (we should have know it was false) and a picture of Anthony Kiedis wearing a Justice tshirt.
Mixmag.net had the skinny on the facts and had this quote from Ed Banger(the lable Justice are on) boss Pedro Winter
"This is what actually happened: I was recently in touch with Anthony Kiedis by phone. He wanted Justice to perform at a festival he's curating in the US. He said "Justice is the best album of the year". So I sent him some Ed Banger goodies and last week we discovered this amazing photo of him and Diddy at a Lakers game. I've been saying for a while that my dream is to see Justice producing albums for other artists like Justin Timberlake or the Chili Peppers."
So it looks like this was just a rumor that a few people got carried away with and well you know the rest. With Justice still to produce an album for anyone yet i think they could do better then the R.H.C.P for their first.

Don Caballero have revealed the tracklisting for their new album called Punkgasm(Punkgasm was recorded in spring 2008 at Rust Belt Studios in Royal Oak, Michigan). So Beck's 10th album has a name Modern Guilt and if you haven't heard already its Danger Mouse-produced and Cat Power-assisted (mmm interesting). The album will clock in at just over a half an hour and will feature 10 tracks, no full track listing yet but have heard it will feature the following songs: "Modern Guilt", "Beggars Shoes", "Chem Trails", and "Walls"(with "Walls" featuring Cat Power)

"is full of off-kilter rhythms and left-field breakdowns, with an overall 1960s British vibe. Beck's vocals float over the music as if he's singing along to some mystical radio station in the next room. The title track has the groove of a good Zombies single, while the twangy guitar and uptempo beat of "Beggars Shoes" make it sound like Beck's cruising at maximum speed down Route 66."

6 uears after their last full album 'Dublin gone, Everybody dead', The Jimmy Cake finally return after numerous line-up changes.

Pros:

• The Jimmy Cake are awesome. I've always thought so and I always will.
• The Jimmy Cake live are an awesome proposition.
• The epic scope of this album is a pay off to what they've been buildling up to for years.
• The addition of Who-like Synths on tracks like 'Hugs for Buddy' add a new flavour.

Cons:

• The chaotic mish-mash of instruments that normally infuse their tracks isn't as much in evidence on this album as it was on the last which could piss off a few people who loved them for that very reason.
• At first few listens it doesn't appear to be as amazing as 'Dublin Gone, Everybody Dead'.
• Thats pretty much it for the cons.
  

The albums excellent and anybody who doubts me can listen to 'Hugs for Buddy' below to see what I mean. Get to see The Jimmy Cake live as soon as you can as well.
